Undergraduate Admission

The undergraduate students are only admitted every Fall. There are no Spring admissions. The undergraduate program currently admits students via 5 routes and only these 5:

By University Entrance Exam

The majority of them enter the program by taking the annual university entrance exam at the beginning of each July.

By Application

About a quarter of the freshmen enter the program by applying. Based on the their score on the academic ability test, 2 times the amount of students to be admitted are selected to take the 2nd round exams in Oral exam. The final decision will be based on the academic ability test score(50%) and 2nd round exam score(50%).

By Overseas Chinese Status

The overseas Chinese student category is open only to students of foreign nationality with Chinese origin. The students must prove their foreign nationality as well as their Chinese origin before entering the Overseas Chinese University for this very purpose. These students tend to come from different education systems and thus different academic ability. The Overseas Chinese University serves as the intermediate institute that prepares the overseas students for the challenges to come in regular universities in Taiwan. Upon completing the program in the Overseas Chinese University, the students will take an exam and be distributed to various departments and universities based on the exam scores.

By Transfer Exam

Students may also enter the department by taking the transfer exam at the end of every July.

Graduate Admission

Master Program Admission

Domestic applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a local university or foreign institute recognized by the Ministry of Education. There is an additional requirement for the students applying at the Biometry division group A. The applicants must be graduates from the colleges of agronomy, the life science equivalent departments.

With the above qualification, the applicants may apply to enter the program without taking the entrance exam. The condition is that the applicants must be on the top 50% in overall GPA, have more than 10 years of work experience, or hold other Master or Doctoral degrees. The application and admission brochure will be the best document to refer to and are usually available in mid October.

The applicants take part in the master program exam in mid April. The content and exam scope are determined by each research group. They change from time to time. The application and admission brochure will be the best document to refer to and are usually available from early February. The master program exam is solely a written exam, unlike the doctoral program exam.

Doctoral Program Admission

Domestic applicants must hold a Master degree or equivalent from a local university or foreign institute recognized by the Ministry of Education.

If the above qualification is fulfilled, the applicants can then take part in the doctoral program exam in June.

At the crop division , the decision is based upon the oral exam grade by 60% and the applicant's portfolio by 40%. At the biometry division ,the decision is based upon the written exam grade by 30%, the oral exam grade by 40% and the applicant's portfolio by 30%.

The application and admission brochure will be the best document to refer to and are usually available from early May.

International Student Admission

Scholarships

Many kinds of scholarships are sponsored by foundation of agriculture, crop science, weed science, seedling company etc.
